Scott Warrick and his team are cooking up a storm this week for Cisco Bluesfest

Scott Warrick, Professor in the Culinary Arts programs is the Executive Chef for another year at Bluesfest. He and two other Algonquin College Professors, Sean Edwards and Bob Gelinas, are among the many cooks that will be busy preparing food for over 2,000 eager Bluesfest volunteers each day at the outdoor Blues Café.

This will be Scott’s fourth year as the Executive Chef for Bluesfest but he has been volunteering for years since many of the organizers have been friends since high school. Students in Algonquin College’s Culinary Management program, Culinary Skills – Chef Training online program, and Culinary Skills – Chef Training program, and the new Quantity Cooking program all receive hands-on experience on what it takes to prepare food in a fast-pace, and a high volume environment , while having fun and enjoying the popular festival. Algonquin’s culinary programs provide the facilities for food preparation. Each day during Bluesfest, students and festival volunteers help Chef Warrick to prep everything before it gets transported to the festival site.

The Blues Café menu is produced by Chef Warrick himself, with the help of some Bluesfest Directors and this year’s menu for the Blues Café has added a new “full-time grill sector” to create some extra choices among the diverse buffet for the volunteers to enjoy. The buffet will include meals like Beef Bourguignon, Salmon and Sauce, to Butter/Tandori Chicken.
