The CSD learning strategist works with a student’s strengths to overcome their academic challenges. Essentially, they help students learn how to learn in a college setting. Examples of topics that they cover include strategies for reading, time management, organization skills and study strategies.
The CSD counsellor works with students with disabilities by ensuring that they have academic accommodations and supports in place. This may include adaptive technology needs, testing accommodations, and developing an Individual Student Plan based on the documentation that the student provides. A counsellor’s role is quite simply to ensure that all aspects of a student’s education is accessible.
Open Monday to Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
